camp LG jump / goose shock jump 

this might be known by everyone or it might not so i thought id share anyway since these map seems to be played a decent amount. this might be useful or it might not you guys can decide, i find it decently useful

what this topic is about is the LG jump from the 4 vials area to reach the LG.

generally what i see people doing is either: 1) using a double jump then dodging off the wall to reach LG or 2) jumping then dodge jumping off the wall to reach the LG.

here is what i have discovered if you want to call it that. the "dodge jump" can be delayed significantly enough that you will cover more grounds with your dodge jump. on campgrounds you can save time and move quicker to LG or from LG to vials by delaying your dodge jump and bypassing the any dodge off the wall.

what do i mean by delaying the dodge jump. well, dodge jumps are made by taping any direction 2 times quickly followed by a jump.

think about the path that your player makes when he does a dodge as a semi circle or a circle missing the bottom half whichever.

for illustrative purposes lets split that semi circle in half making a left and a right section for the semi circle

generally the "jump" portion of the "dodge jump" is made very early during the duration of the dodge, probably in the very early part of the left section.

the UT engine will allow you to do a dodge jump by pressing jump anytime during the left portion of the semi circle including the very middle. this is what i mean by delaying your dodge jump. instead of pressing jump at the very early part of the left section hold off a split second and time the jump more towards the middle.

why does the UT engine allow this? well from my experience with competative gaming its because the developers generally give some leeway to human error. they might think that some might not be quick enough or figners work fast enough or whatever and extend the window of opportunity to registering the jump in the dodge jump.

anyway if you've managed to sit through all this your probabally thinking its hard to do or something but it's really not. It took about 2 min of trying it out and i would say i make the camp LG jump pritty consistantly without the wall.

the other jump i found useful for the dodge jump delaying is on goose from the LG box area (where the health is on top of the box) straight to the shock rifle elevated platform. generally if you want to get the shock rifle from the box area people make a dodge jump land on lower groud then do a double jump to get to the shock.

you can bypass that by delaying the dodge jump and landing on the edge of the shock platform. this one is trickier cause you dont have as much room to land as in the camp LG jump, since you are landing on the edge of the platform next to the wall but it can be done and ive been using it.

anyway you might think its useful or you might not you can decide i just thought id share. have fun, if you have any questions just ask.
