UPDATE
So as to not spam the news page with ONS posts, I'll simply update this one. After 3 quick and relatively close games, Continuance came out on top over Megadeath, clinching the title of this fourth One Night Stand. Check Six, who were supposed to play Megadeath for the chance to play Continuance, didn't have enough players and were forfeited out of the tournament after 30 minutes of waiting.
Final Standings:
1. Continuance
2. Megadeath
3. Check Six
4. Deify
5-8. SAHT, Curse, XM, Berserk
Good games!
In what has turned out to be the least aptly named tournament in some time, One Night Stand suffered little delays last night that forced the two remaining matches, the Loser's Bracket Finals and the Grand Finals, to be played tonight.
Of course, various issues are to blame, but poor planning on my part, which didn't account for tremendously long arguments about various issues, resulted in the delay. Still, everyone involved has been having a lot of fun, as have I, and we look forward to the conclusion of this most long-winded night.
Continuance now sits as the favorite, having won the Winner's Bracket final agaisnt Check Six, who after having won the first map, had a 3 frag lead going into the final seconds of Goose, the second map, and blew it by hiding in the water. Bad move, there. Con then moved on to comfortably defeat x6 on Goliath, clinching the victory.
On the Loser's side, Megadeath continued their impressive play and defeated Deify, a team whose name I absolutely can't pronounce. They will now play agaisnt Check Six to determine who has the right to face Continuance in the finals.
Although TsN and UTV are not confirmed as of yet, both are probable, and if interesting matches sounds like your cup of tea, join us in #ons on ETG at 8:30 Eastern time tonight.
Huzzah!
