After much anticipation the first week of MLUT's 2k4 CTF league began last night, including UTV and shoutcast coverage.
For those who have never heard of MLUT, here's a basic rundown:
signups are open for anyone and everyone who wants to play, simply visit the website while signups are in progress and register
after signups close, captains and admins submit a list of every player involved ranked from best to worst
these lists are combined and averaged, and the players are each assigned a "salary" based on their rank, with the highest-ranked being the highest salary
a salary cap is set, which no team can surpass (rosters must remain full at all times also)
on Draft Night, captains draft their players to their teams, using their perceived value vs assigned salary as their main basis for deciding
Teams then play through a full season and playoffs to decide the MLUT champs. The full schedule and rosters are all available on the MLUT site. The second half of the first round's matches are scheduled for this sunday night (with wednesday being the other night matches occur).
