UTComp is a mutator for Unreal Tournament 2004, intended to be use for competitive and tournament play. It's major features include full serverside brightskins for enhanced visibility, hitsounds, colored names, warmup mode, weapon statistics and a lot more. UTComp Version 1.7a is up for download.

Changelog from version 1.6a:
* Significantly improved enhanced netcode accuracy.
* Added the ability to view other players stats on the server via the scoreboard.
* Added forward gametype as a votable option.
* Added server side option to fix Epic's small shield absorption bug.
* Fixed movement error from v1.6a due to old test code.
* Added option for players to disable their own specific adrenaline combos.
* Servertravel parameters will now work on initial loading of game.
* Fixed Show Colored names when targeting enemy players option.
* Fixed scoreboard spectator box being too large with UTComp scoreboard disabled.
* Fixed GUI setting your current name to your first saved colored name's colors when you load the colored names menu the first time.

This is the last thing I plan to do UTComp related, including UT3, so do with it as you wish.

UTComp Source Released!

Well, lots of people have asked, so here it is. We are done with UTComp development, so we figured we might as well release the source code to our work so that people, if interested, can build and improve on it. A few notes about the release:

- We've decided to release this under the GPL. For those living under a rock for the past 15 years, this means that anything you create using the UTComp source has to also be released with its source under the GPL. This also means we still retain ownership over the code, and therefore could decide to let people use it in closed-source programs (via a separate private license) if deemed necessary. Read the included gpl.html file for more info.
- This is actually from v1.6, and not 1.6a. The source to 1.6a was lost due to a mishap in backup procedures. This means that any fixes done to 1.6a (as seen in the changelog in the readme for the released version) won't be in this version. Sorry.
- The source does not come with any documentation whatsoever, and the code has very few comments. Therefore, it might not be the best code to read if you are trying to learn unrealscript. Basically, 99% of it was done by one guy, without expecting it to ever go public, so making it human-readable has always been at a lower priority. For the most part, it works, and that's what has mattered to us :P

UTComp version 1.6a Released!

Well, it took a while, but here's a new version of UTComp, fresh from the compiler! This is mostly a bugfix release, mostly about new 1.6 features (Enhanced Netcode and Clan Arena), but it also comes with a frequently requested feature, a headshot counter on the weapon stats page.

This version is the new stable version, and should be a safe upgrade for leagues and tournaments. As always, if you stumble upon any bugs we have missed, please report them to the forums.

Changelog:
- Added Lightning Gun and Sniper Rifle headshots to weapon stats.
- Voting now show the name of the player who started the vote.
- Coach Mode now defaults to and forces First Person view.
- Spectators with admin rights can now call new votes and participate in voting.
- Adminready now always works as a spec.
- Fixed Vehicle fire hitsounds not playing with scoreboard stats disabled.
- Added \\"Enable Enhanced Netcode\\" and \\"Allow players to vote on Enhanced Netcode\\" settings to Webadmin.
- Fixed ?EnableEnhancedNetcode command line parameter.
- Fixed link primary projectiles sometimes not hitting with Enhanced Netcode.
- Added EnhancedNetcode variable in serverinfo.
- Fixed recusion crashes with UTComp and Epic's Arena mutator.
- Fixed Clan Arena sometimes letting players join teams during rounds.
- Fixed exploit in Clan Arena allowing people to spectate in free float mode after dying.
- Fixed vertical aim occasionally being disabled after spawning in Clan Arena.
- Fixed Clan Arena clock being garbled in overtime.
- Fixed weapons spawning in Clan Arena allowing players to get ammo after they run out.
- Clan Arena and Duel servers now show on their appripriate server browser gametype categories.
- Added short map names for DM-1on1-Roughinery-FPS, DM-Deck17-FPS, DM-1on1-Lea and DM-Campgrounds2004-G1E to mapvote.
- Very minor GUI improvements

UTComp version 1.6 Released!

There it is, UTComp 1.6 is now out of beta, and ready for release. For those who missed out on the beta phase, this release adds several new features, the biggest ones being an enhanced netcode to help even out gameplay on higher pings, and a built-in clan arena gametype. Note that unlike the betas, the enhanced netcode is not enabled by default on servers: server admins can either enable it manually (view readme for information on how to do that), or players can vote it in in the voting --> UTComp settings menu.

As always, please make sure to report bugs you find in the forums above. We're also open to any feedback players might have on any new or old features.

We want to give special thanks to all the server admins and players who've helped beta test this new UTComp version. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

Just a reminder, you *MUST* add utcompv16 to your serverpackages if you wish to record serverside demos.

-Red/Blue Team Score in the player list will no longer report a ping.
-Fixed bug which made it impossible for spectators to switch players and move around after a quick map restart.
-Fixed bug with Timed Overtime in which certain seconds were left out on the game clock.
-Fixed bug causing Warmup to cause choppyness with the Low gravity mutator.
-Fixed bug causing everyone to skin as enemy color when spectating if skins were set to enemy/teammate based.
-Fixed admin forced votes stopping further votes from being started
-Fixed bug causing UTComp to remove itself from the server on certain gametype votes.
